Franchises Drawing in More Women Entrepreneuers

Written on September 14th, 2007 by Ryan Lee in Franchising Developments.

Women entrepreneurs are making franchising a hot commodity, according to a survey by the National Foundation for Women Business Owners. According to the survey, women held 50% ownership of almost half of all privately owned business firms across the nation. Until 1997, there was no such significant growth rate in the number of women entrepreneurs in America. But the situation changed drastically between the years 1997 and 2004. Within this period, an approximately 20% increase was noticed in the number of women-run franchises!

You might be wondering what attracts female entrepreneurs to the franchising industry or how they are benefited in this field. Whether they are looking for a piece of ownership on their career and financial advancement, or want something flexible they can do while juggling their children, franchising offers opportunities that appeal to wherever a woman may find herself.
